Richard Bulanda of Aero-Shield Capital, who generously donated a FiAR fire extinguisher simulator!

FiAR is an augmented reality (AR) fire extinguisher training tool, which allows our personnel to create site-specific customized scenarios. This versatility allows our staff to simulate a grease fire in a commercial kitchen (class K fire) a garbage can fire in an office setting (class A fire), or any other various scenarios.

The simulator will be used by our fire prevention staff to provide instruction to our business community, schools and the public.

Last Friday, Fire Marshal Tom Murray demonstrated the simulator to Mr. Bulanda at his business. Aero-Shield Capital provides service and leasing of aviation engines and Auxiliary Power Units (APU) for several large airframes. Chief Joe was like a kid in a candy store while touring Aero-Shield’s Mokena shop!
