On behalf of the men and women of the Mokena Fire Protection District, I welcome you to our webpage. I am honored to serve alongside a group of individuals dedicated to providing outstanding service in a most cost-effective manner.
The Mokena Fire Protection District is an organization that dates back to the early 1900’s, officially becoming organized as the Mokena Community Volunteer Fire Department in 1917. The fire district was formally created through referendum in 1962, establishing a taxing body responsible for the prevention and suppression of fires. The fire district began providing emergency medical services via referendum in 1988. We are proud to be recognized as a Class One fire agency by the Insurance Services Organization (ISO).
We provide fire, rescue, and medical services to approximately 21,000 people over 12.5 square miles through three fire stations. Each fire station is assigned an Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulance, and an ALS equipped fire engine or fire truck.
We are proud to be an organization that has adopted the tenets of continuous quality improvement, while maintaining strong stewardship of taxpayer’s funds.
I hope that you will find our website entertaining and informative.
