While a necessary evil to provide safe winter travels, road salt is very corrosive
Mokena Fire Protection District, February 27
Two of our three stations have built-in undercarriage washers, in an effort to remove as much road salt as possible and to prevent or reduce the corrosion on frame rails and other parts of the chassis.
Today, Engineer Dreger and Firefighter Pavnica took the time to power wash the exterior with a salt-neutralizing spray. Black Shift Station #1 showing pride today!
